MY STORY

Lindsay Miller Stokes, Owner

I have had the fortunate opportunity to teach dance for the past 12 years. Sharing my love of dance with others is one of the greatest gifts in my life.

I grew up in Boulder, Colorado in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I started dancing when I was 10 years old and fell in love with it. I moved to New York City in my early 20’s and pursued dance professionally. I did some dancing gigs (I was a motivational bar mitzvah dancer for a little while, and danced on MTV), then I moved to Los Angeles and danced for a Salsa/Hip-Hop company.

I started doing wedding dance lessons in 2010 when a friend asked me to choreograph a dance for her and her fiancé’s wedding. Even though my friend was a dancer herself, she wanted someone who could watch the dance and provide feedback, and help teach her fiancé how to dance. At the end of their first dance, the crowd went wild and her non-dancer husband was on such a high, so thrilled to have mastered this skill that he could now share with his wife and show off to his friends and family. I absolutely loved working with them and I realized that I had a valuable skill that I could offer to couples getting married. I went on to teach wedding dance lessons part-time, working with hundreds of couples over the past 12 years.

It wasn’t until moving to Oregon in 2018 with my husband and our 1 year old daughter that I decided to wholeheartedly commit to following my passion and have been working to expand my wedding dance lesson business to be full-time. I’m excited to be able to offer my services to more couples. I love what I do-I get to be creative and meet amazing people and I feel so fortunate that I get to play a small part in one of the most memorable times of your life!
